The book is divided into two parts i.e. ‘In Love’ and ‘In Memory’
The first part has two different storylines in different timelines.
One is the story of Dhruv and Nisha who work in the same office. Dhruv is a popular and dashing guy in Nisha’s office and she gets attracted to him, but from the day Dhruv enters her life, she starts getting late night calls from a stranger and scary nightmares that seem very real to her.
Another story is of Rimi and Nivas who are classmates and Nivas has a crush on her. On confessing his love to her, she agrees and they get into a relationship, but soon break up as she realises that his love for her is merely to satisfy his physical needs.
In the second part, the romantic story turns into a murder mystery where Kevin, the best detective of the city is hired to solve the case which he finds really complicated and bizarre.
There is much more to the story, but it can’t be revealed as it would be a spoiler.
Things I liked:
- The story is well-plotted and well-written
- The characters are well developed
- The chapters are short with a smooth flow of story
- The ending of each chapter leaving the reader on a cliff-hanger and multiple twists and turns make the book an absolute page-turner
- The story is fast paced and the book can be easily finished within one sitting
- The title is apt and the cover is beautiful
- The ending was unpredictable and absolutely thrilling for me
Things I didn’t like:
- The transition of stories between two consecutive chapters in the first part sacrificed a bit on the reading experience
Writing Style:
The writing style is simple and lucid and the language is easy and beginner friendly
My Final Verdict:
Overall I loved the book, it is a nail-biting thriller. I would recommend all thriller and mystery lovers to pick this book up and if someone wants to start reading this genre, this book would be a great start.
